Cutting Slow with SCAL2

I reinstalled SCAL2 a few months back for my cricut. .The cutting is going very very slow.. Is there a way I can speed it up.. I already went into my software preferences and chose max.. and I also deleted a lot of nodes.. and it's still taking forever to cut?? Is there a secret to upping the speed..

The only thing I can think of would be too many other apps open when you cut.
