Curved Trifold card

Post by lindamac »

I have been trying for two days to make a curved trifold card. I can't get the curves to match up in the middle! Then the two extra side pieces won't match up either. Could someone tackle this and figure out what I did wrong? Or direct me to someone who has made one? Thanks

Did you try adjusting the nodes??? to see if that will help?? Do the curved pieces go on the end of the card???

Yes, I tried adjusting the nodes, tried copying one end of the piece and adding it to the other end to make them uniform. the extra end pieces are to be inset just a bit so the background of the card will show. Like the whole card is lavendar and the side pieces are lavendar print to glue on top. Does that make sense?

I sure hope you guys figure this out soon. I'm so spatially deficient that I can't even picture where you want to go. Keep at it and then please post the final file so I can make ups and downs of it.

Love this kind of stuff.

Ahhh okay.. now I got you.. So the outer curve fits snuggly in line with the inner curve.... and that rectangle is like the center of the card?? glued on top... I can picture it now.. I can hardly wait to see your finished product :D ...

Thanks! I will cut it tomorrow . Here is a picture of the two I made with my design. I decided to keep them even if they didn't meet in the middle. Will post a new picture tomorrow after I cut the new file out. I knew someone on this forum would come to my rescue! what a great group of people we have here.

Ok. Now that I see what you need, you might want to try this one. I made a copy of the large piece and then I used it to cut the same contour. This should work. I also offset the smaller pieces by 1/8th".
