When I cut stencils for glasses that have a contour, I use the Envelope distort feature in Illustrator. I'm not sure what it's called in Inkscape. Depending on the glasses angle, I use an angle of 8 or 9% and then I print on paper first to see how well it's going to look on the glass. The last glasses I did were at a 9% warp and when I wrapped the stencil around the glass, the text was straight across. The picture is a sample of the artwork and then the artwork warped at 9%.

Inkscape does have a version of envelope distort, though it is a bit different from AI's. You can find it in either the Path Effect editor (Path menu) or Extensions/Modify Path. I'm not that familiar with it, so you should look up some tutorials on how to use it.

Todd, what settings did you use? I couldn't figure out which shape you used in AI.

Envelope distort>Make with Warp and I use the Arc at various percentages depending on the glass.

Good morning. I was able to find the Envelope Deformation. However I could not locate the Warp options in Inkscape.
Could you tell me where I can locate those options? If the manual have a search options it would make things so much easier.

Thank you everyon for ALL your help.

Post your file as an SVG and I will put the arc in it for you. I can't use the SCUT file on this computer.

Soulsisterd, Envelope/Warp that Todd is talking about is in Illustrator. Inkscape just has Envelope Distort (at least in 0.47) and then you would use the node option to adjust your file. Not sure what has been added to 0.48. I've attached your file with a 9% warp.

Todd, Thanks! I think I was using backwards reasoning. I should have been thinking like a cupcake wrapper. ;)
