Hi, I have looked for a tut on registration marks to no avail, but I have an alternative for u,

If you put all the red pieces on one layer, add a layer and put the blue there etc then you can open each layer, place them on the mat to fit the paper and cut....no reg marks needed.

Maybe these videos will help with using layers to cut different colors.

Let me know if this helps or maybe someone will find a tut on using reg marks.

Thank you for your response. Those videos are great. I guess what happened is I had watched some people who did the layering with the reg marks and it looks so easy and foolproof.

I think my concern is that I won't get them to line up right doing it manually. I am going to give it a try tonight and see what happens and I'll let you know.

Reg marks do not always get the cut correctly. I find that using individual layers if all you are doing is cutting an image, it is easy to line up on a virtual mat and only need the size of paper that you need. I usually place my image in the upper left hand corner of the virtual mat so I know where to put my paper.

Hope we are getting closer to a solution. :)

Ok...so I hope this works...this is a file of a phrase in shape of an apple....so if I separate into the two layers say the stem area and the rest of the apple into two layers...you are saying to cut layer one...put the green in top corner of the mat...then switch to red and recut in same spot on the mat just only layer 2?

Gosh I hope that made sense lol. I am sooooo new and really want to figure out what my head is trying to do lol.

That wasn't a great example as its only two layers and would be easy to line up. Maybe something like an animal or a character with multiple cuts, colors and layers.

Before we go any further, let me be sure I know where you want to go with the design,

In you mind's eye how do you see using this image: i.e. as a one piece 2 color element on a white background shape or cutting out the red as a stencilish out of red paper,????

I'm obviously confused so back to you before I lead you astray
