cutting wingdings

Post by celyinsc »

I'm new, but loving the program so far. Problem: I have a new Mac. I pulled up a wingding. I sized it, positioned it, but when I tell it to cut, nothing happens. Well, SCAL says,"checking the mat". This problem is only with the wingding fonts. I have been able to cut .svg pics with no problems. I've tried to find the issue within the forum as not to bother anyone, but to no avail. Now I seek assistance. Thanks!

I have had this trouble when trying to cut something only one character large, especially if I have deleted several other characters first. You might try opening a new document and starting again, or typing several characters.

Hi
Some Wingdings are not designed to be cut straight off. There are extra cutting nodes which may stop SCAL reading the file. You need to use Inkscape to clean them up.
Best idea is to see Susans Tut on the subject.
