Scan2Cut Using Adobe Illustrator

Post by mmhockeyfan »

Hi,
Has anyone Scan2Cut a stamped image by way of Adobe Illustrator? In Illustrator I scanned the image, traced it, created a closed path to cut the image, place registration marks the closed path (<path>.REGMARKS), and saved the file as an *.*svg. I placed manual registration marks around the stamped image. My cut ends up skewed. I've calibrated for Print and Cut successfully so I don't think that is the issue. Is it possible I'm not placing the registration marks in the right place or is this a lost cause and I should simply use SCAL to scan and cut a stamped image? I'm using SCAL 4 Pro Version 4.075.
Thanks

I would guess you need to use the step-by-step procedure in SCAL in order to make it work. You might want to check out my tutorial in Section 11.06 in this user manual.

While it uses a different cutter, the basic procedure would be the same:

It sounds like you're not welding the letters to remove overlap? Select your design and on the Style Panel, mark the option called Weld and try again.
