sell the cricut on craigslist, put mine on there and in four hours got two phone calls and sold it. as for the inkscape, sorry i dont know how to do it, i would think it would be same concept as in scal.

There's an SCAL group on FB. Not the regular Sure Cuts a Lot FB, but Sure Cuts A Lot (SCAL). They all use Inkscape and do a lot of vinyl, and they've been doing those split monograms. They would be happy to help you or lead you to a video where you could learn.
