Inkscape - text on a circle

How to arch, arc or put text on or in a circle is a common question and I've tried to provide a step-by-step process in this post...

however, if you have a basic understanding of how to get to this step, all you have to do is
select the circle only and grab the middle handle and pull it down to reverse the text.
You can use the alt key and the right and left arrow keys to add or decrease the space between the letters...

AWesome explanation Laura.. I was sure i saw a tutorial on using the path/reverse to get your letters on the inside as well.. I must have dreamt it because I cant find it now..LOL So in order to get rid of the circle do you just break it apart afterwards or just lighten the stroke line..

I prefer to duplicate the text and after applying object to path I copy and put it in a new file so I can save my working file.
That way I can easily use it and change the copy for other projects.

In the new file I break apart, apply difference on the letters that need it and then union.
