I tried your 1st lesson and it wouldnt work for me.When I did the clone thing and added to correct numbers in the boxes like instructed it was all a jumble it didnt even resemble your picture. What am I doing wrong?

Which tutorial would you reccomend for a first time inkscape user. I am new to using inkscape... I was thinking of starting with a shilouette, so how do I turn it into an svg file. Thank you. Valerie
