inkscape is driving me batty
Why can't I open anything into inkscape. It doesn't matter what the format is it wont open. UGH> I am not having any fun and so want to play and try to do my own designs instead of bugging people. Can anyone give me a really quick easy easy lesson

If you are trying to bring a .jpg or a .png into Inkscape you have to IMPORT.
If you are bringing in an .svg file you should be able to just OPEN.
HOWEVER i THINK that all .svg's are not created equal so depending on what program created the .svg file that could MAYBE be a problem.
So specifically which files can you not get into Inkscape? Perhaps you should post one here and someone will figure it out.

i'm trying to import this ford logo to cut as a decal for a window for my brother in law. Starting to think I'm in way over my head and should just stick to sewing instead of this stuff.

SCAL2 has Autotrace feature. But keep in mind that it all depends on the quality of images. The clearer the image the better. The one that you posted looks like a thumbnail of something bigger.
