Hi!
I'm new to the forum, have downloaded the trial version and am getting aquainted with it. What an AWESOME program!
I had the same thing happen on my first shot with Inkskape, I saved it as an svg file then imported it into SCA - it was a blank file. I went back to see what I had done wrong, discovered that I hadn't traced it properly before saving. When selecting "trace to bitmap" I had to hit the "ok' button twice to make sure the image I was working on was in the preview window. Hope this makes sense.
Purpose of Inkscape???

to make sure your traced image file shows up in scal: before leaving Inkscape select all and Path>Object to path then save as .svg.
With Illustrator try ungrouping before you save - I know that several people had probs with dxf files for ROBO not showing up unless they ungrouped.
