I am guessing that you are using SCAL1 since your file opened with no problems in eCAL but not in SCAL1. It seems that there was something in the file that caused the problem. All I did was copy/paste your artwork into a new file and saved it then it would import correctly into SCAL1.

Did you use the Path effect editor in Inkscape? If I remember correctly that can cause problems in SCAL1. The solution is to copy/paste into a new doc, sometimes you need to use Path/Union too.

I'm curious about the reason for the image in the file. If you used Spiral Splines with a shape along Path then all you need to convert to cutting lines is to use Path/Object to Path (followed by Path/Union in this case). That will give cleaner cut lines than making a bitmap and then tracing it. HTH
