Help with converting GIF to SVG
Help with converting GIF to SVG
I have inkscape and have repeatedly tried to convert a GIF file that I have into an SVG but I cannot figure it out. I have tried to search the forum and the internet but I have not found an specific information for convert a GIF file. Is that because you have to convert the GIF file to another format before converting it to SVG in Inkscape? I was originally going to post the file for help but I have many GIF files I want to convert so I thought it best to find out how to do it myself. If anyone can explain or point me in the direction of some good layman/newbie instructions I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!!!

Re: Help with converting GIF to SVG
You need to go to the trace image option in inkscape to convert it over...

Re: Help with converting GIF to SVG
krainey,
SCAL can import Gifs directly for trace, as can Inkscape. The problem is probably not the format but the nature of the image itself (or, as sweetness said, that you are skipping the tracing step).
Also, you may find this pictorial guide to tutorials helpful
