Help with Image

Post by eaglemama28 »

I am trying to recreate this image to cut in vinyl...
I am not having any luck with inkscape and I have searched for this font and not having any luck with that either.
Could someone help if you recognize the font or can give me pointers on how to make this happen in inkscape.
Inkscape still imtimidates me to some extent...learning more everyday.
Thanks, Donna

You may want to try GIMP. It lets you turn selections into paths and save the paths as SVG that can be opened with Inkscape. I find it easier when tracing things to use GIMP's magic wand and other image tracing tools rather than Inkscape's dialog box with lots of settings I don't understand.

After tracing in GIMP and saving the paths. I usually import the image into Inkscape as well to do fine level adjustments - just import the image as an image, don't auto-trace it.

The P H S match a font I have called Engravers MT but my version is all caps so it doesn't have the small letters...not sure what font would match them..

Thanks for the font. I have downloaded it and it looks good. Now to try and find the rest. I need to have this done by LAbor Day. It is slowly, slowly coming together. One day I hope to be much faster with this stuff!!

Here is an svg for you. I got a decent trace using the default settings, then edited it a bit in Inkscape. HTH
