The swirls are on Build version 2.026 which is a 'work in progress' version of the software ; there is a link to the Build version on the download page.
Build versions enable you to try out new features that the developers are working on ( like the Print feature which lets you cut with Craft ROBO), swirls and a few other nice extras. It's not always a stable version though.

OK, I just tried to update my SCAL2 and it keeps walking me through the set-up process every time I click on the desktop icon. What am I doing wrong?
