Scooby Doo

Post by AnointedHands »

My daughter's favorite cartoon...

The outline is the top layer and the bottom and tongue are together. I cut it out but I was using a new mat and the thin lines tore instead of pulling off intact. Be care that you mat is not tooooo sticky when you cut...the outline (should be cut out in black paper) has thin lines and if you are not careful yours will tear also.

That font file didn't show in Inkscape and when I looked at it in SCAL, I knew it would be hard to cut...too many lines. I created it in Inkscape. It is not really hard but I know how to manipulate vector graphics in Inkscape. If you are not familiar or comfortable working with vector graphics (graphics with lines and nodes), you might have a problem understanding how they work and what you can actually do with them.

If you want to get started, start with simple objects and familiarize yourself with the workings. Try to trace something in Inkscape and go from there. It will take time and patience but once you get it, it is well worth it.
