I have a question since the time limit is upon us for help. I don't know when or how at this point but hopefully I will get a new cutter in the future and as owners of SCAL 2 we can now download FREE SCAL 3. Will this also be true after the deadline of Dec 31 or should we download SCAL 3 now while we can get it FREE? I hope this makes sense. Thanks for any help on this asap. The time is so close.

No further support refers to no further changes or bug fixes to the software version 2...you will still beable to use these forms after the 'last day' to retrieve scal2 or get your free scal3 if you own scal2...

This is how I understand it.

The regular support will end at the end of the year, but that does not mean you won't be able to utilize the program. I believe you will still be able to upgrade to SCAL 3. But, there's no reason not to do that now. SCAL 2 and SCAL 3 are installed in completely different folders and if you get SCAL 3, you will still be able to use SCAL 2 as it's own program.

What kind of machine are you getting?

You would be better off to ask Santa for a different cutter that is supported by SCAL3 and upgrade your scal2 to version 3 for free through the CE homepage.

i think i am even more confused now. what does SCAL3 go with? do i need it with my current Cricut? So the Cricut Create I have now is not going to work with SCAL3? I was going to get the expression wit hthe color screen. So none of the SCAL will work with me current SCAL programs? What machines will? Is there a machine that I can down load directly from the internet?

is there anyone out there that has a machine other than a Cricut? I had not thought about changing machines but seems as though I will need to for SCAL. Suggestions? I want a machine that will cut large size designs, at least 12x12. PLease, i welcome any and all advice or opinions. Where can other machines be purchased? (other than on line)

Your cricut will still work with 2 but will not work with 3 but you can have both 2 and 3 on the computer at the same tim since 3 does not over write 2.
