I'm trying to make a basketball

Post by Robbysmommyga »

Ok, I'm working on my son's basketball scrapbook album. I've designed the following basketballs but for some reason they aren't exactly what I want. Any suggestions from the pros?

Thanks,
Lisa

P.S. Here are the pictures.

They don't cut right. The basketball lines are so small. I'm just so frustrated. Another person created a baseball one in CDS and it comes out great. This one is too choppy and I don't know what to do to fix them.

when I looked at the one with the word 'basketball' on the ball, not all the letters were connected. the other one had a square surrounding it.

I could tweak them for you & repost them if you like.

Tracing images alone is not usually the be all end all in inkscape. it sometimes takes work in moving lines & deleting nodes, etc. I'd like to make a video tutorial on that, but won't have time for that for another month. That would be much easier than a picture/text tutorial.

give me a few minutes & I'll post the files with some changes for you & you can tell me what you like & don't like, etc.

how is this for the basketball?

I made the outside "mat" one full circle--I just closed it up.
I also eliminated the double line for the area inbtween the "sections" of the ball.

if this is not what you're after, just let me know & I can change it some more.

I have no idea how you did that, but omg, thank you the cut worked fabulous.

I have to leave for work right now, but I will post a picture later of the cut.
