If you still have scal 2 you could open your files there and export them as svg files. They should open fine in your updated software.

If the glyphs in the font you are using are not encoded, then they will not show up.

After you open your file, try going to print preview and see if the lines show up. If so, then you may need to go into your colors and make sure there is color in your lines, and a fill color is you want that. I noticed with an upgrade that I had to change these things as well.

You should be able to use svg files. You can design your project in SCAL and the export it and save as a svg file. You can then import the svg file into the Explore and cut it.

I would love to have my layers panel undocked from the right side multiple function panels, so that I can see more layers without shrinking down the views of the other functions.

Nuzzmark, did you get your ECAL to work? I also have a new Windows 8 laptop, and had no problems installing and cutting with ECAL2 with my Eclips (the original Eclips). Hope it got worked out for you.

Just to clarify. You cannot save as svg from the Sil software, either the studio software or the DE software. The DE software will open svg files, but you cannot save/export as svg files. And, there is really no way to change a studio file to a svg file, unless you have a very old version of the stu...

Unfortunately you cannot share any purchased cut files, so you will not be able to get just the 9 from the SVG Cuts kit. However, I'd say that that kit is well worth it for the numbers, because it also has a really great cupcake box (I just made one this week), a party hat, pennants, and a one-piece...

I'm at v1.5, and started having problems with this version. Before that it was spot on. With this version, I have had to nudge the print lines to the left and up two nudges. Now that I have read that the newest update has corrected this, I will attempt that and see if it helps. Thanks for the info.

look here for the info from craftedge.com. And, make sure if you get the Cricut that it's the original Expression, not the Expression2, because the E2 will not work with any SCAL at all.
