Barrel Distortion and/or Bulge are the two functions that might be able to do this particular shape. Have a look at my examples in Sections 9.14 and 9.15 of this user manual:

Try the Bulge function under Effects. Keep the Top Offset at 0. Make the Bottom Offset negative. And then increase the Bottom Curve value.

... the auto preview is working for me. I do remember Auto preview not working in one of the functions a few months ago, but I don't recall if it was Bulge or a different one. I purchased SCAL4 44.047 it states I'm up to date. I hope that's current.

Hi, the best you can do in ecal2 or scal4 is to use effects/bulge. . Here are the settings I used but adjusting the curve is kinda fun to see what comes up. A fat font works best, try several until you get the look you want.
