SCAL trace feature is probably "smoothing" the original too much. You will probably need to mess with the trace settings if you use autotrace. Also be aware that there is an automatic "simplify" setting under user preferences you may need to turn off for this project.

What she is speaking about is the measurement numbers at the top and the side.. The numbers are not reflecting to the same as the virtual mat. I understand totally what you mean. .I do find this confusing when positioning my paper on my real mat as to reflect the placement on my virtual mat... Espe...

Orientation did not seem to make a difference on my end.

If I look the sticky Cricut mat with it in my hand with the arrow pointing up, my #1 is on the upper right.

If I look at the screen with the arrow pointing up, #12 is on the upper right.

For double lines, I just ungroup them in SCAL, and break apart, then select and delete any doubles. Coloring book pages often present the "double outline" problem. Sometimes you have to move a main image out of the way to be able to get to them. As an alternative, you can move the outline ...
