Re: Alignment question

Go to View>Snap To>Objects (Bounds). Make sure that's the only Snap To option marked. Then you can drag the triangle down towards the square (or vice-versa) and the triangle's bottom edge will snap to the square's top edge.

Re: Is it possible to replace a product with another one?

Most like your images are raster images and SCAL is primarily a vector image program. Thus, you probably need something like GIMP or Affinity Photo or Photoshop to accomplish what you need.

Re: Do I need a Cricut?

For sure you don't want to ever buy a Cricut. It is VERY restrictive and there are many better options for cutter owners.

Regarding your question, what file format are these cut sheets? You might be able to use Inkscape (a free program) to separate the images.

Re: Best way to cut slits for feathers

Go through ALL of Section 5.04.1, practicing making simple lines and simple curves in SCAL. Then you should be able to add whatever you like to that design.

Re: SCAL5 Pro / Adobe Illustrator 2021

Most likely, your Mac isn't recognizing the cutter for what it is. In the Cut Settings window in SCAL5, if you click on Test Connection, does the cutting head move? Also, did you verify the Baud Rate between SCAL (click on the Settings buttons in that Cut Settings window) with what your cutter requi...

Re: Printing and cutting seems to be at a different scale

Very good job testing and reporting. :) I assume you have SCAL5? If so, you have another option that will prevent the reg marks from moving based on whether you have your logo layers showing or hiding. You do NOT need to do this... just as an FYI. Go to Cutter>Cutter Settings and you'll see an optio...

Re: Saving as an SVG

I just ran some tests. I'm current only SCAL5 Pro 5.062 but I dont' think that would be the issue. And my SCAL2 is the same as yours. I added a 5" square to the screen in SCAL5. Then, in the SVG export window in SCAL5, I made sure the DPI was set to 72. Then in SCAL2, the SVG imported at the correct...

Re: Printing and cutting seems to be at a different scale

I should be able to help you figure this out... this is definitely my area of expertise. :) First of all, any chance you turned on Borderless printing in your printer settings? Whenever you do that with something like a print and cut application, the registration marks are actually moved by your pri...

Re: SCAL 5 with Graphtec CE 7000

Unfortunately, I don't personally use Graphtec cutters so I won't be much help. I think you're best bet is to submit a support ticket with SCAL using this link: http://craftedge.com/support/support_form.php You might also be able to find support on Facebook at a Graphtec group or a vinyl group. Good...

Re: Saving as an SVG

I should be able to help you resolve this. I need you to provide VERY specific version numbers for both SCAL5 and SCAL2. Just go to Help>About Sure Cuts A Lot in both versions and post back the versions shown in that window. Then I'll compare to mine and possibly get you updated so that we're both u...
