If you get desperate you could try this:
Take white contact paper and spray paint it the color you want. Let it dry and cut it out....
A friend of mine has done that with wonderful results. Make sure it is completely dry though.

It may sound silly but do you have your cricut connected to your computer? Try unplugging and plugging in both the computer and the cricut.
