Craft Edge

I currrently have the cricut baby and am thinking of upgrading to the expression (this is where the help comes in)
I think I read it somewhere that the version of scal I have will only work with the baby is this right? Will I have to buy scal again when I get the expression? I really love scal.

OMG how dim am I !!!!! SCAL= sure cuts a lot derh I've already bought it and had a play not had too much success but hey ho I'll get there.

Where will I get Scal from I noticed that some people have managed to download a free trial and I think I'd like to try it,even though i'm still struggling with inkscape lol

I know I'm being extremely dim ,but would somebody PLEASE tell me what SCAL is and do I need it
