Re: Newbie Question Updating firmware
It's ok to update through the Craftedge website to the latest version of SCAL. Your current Cricut firmware may work ok without having to update through Design Studio. (I haven't updated my baby bugs firmware in a long time and it works fine with SCAL.)
Hope that helps...

Re: SCAL 2 connecting to internet?
Do you have SCAL set to automatically check for updates? That's probably why it's trying to go on the internet. My Win 7 laptop always warms me when a program is trying to go on the internet to check for updates. Happens all the time with my Lexmark printer/scanner.

Re: new computer
If you got the CD when you bought the software, then the serial numbers etc will be on the left inside cover of the CD case. Or as an alternative, if you still have the XP computer, then open the SCAL program and look in the help section. It should show the serial number there. If you can't find it ...

Re: UGH! MTC Settlement
I read the article very carefully regarding the MTC settlement and it appears that if you own MTC software you can continue to use it. Re: SCAL2 with Windows 7
Do you know if the same problem exists for the newer Cricuts?? I have been thinking about getting the new expression so I can do some wall art. Thanks - it's good to know I am not crazy. I would hold off buying another Cricut machine until the lawsuit of Provocraft vs Craftedge is settled. Since MT...

Wow, that's a lot of money. For me to spend $700 for a machine, it would have to clean my house and cook too!

Re: PC FREE forever FINALLY!!
I'm confused. Why would I want to spend $700 for something that my Vista laptop, SCAL and my Cricut already does for me? Is there something special about this cutting machine other than a computer is built in? And I noticed it doesn't play well with Windows 7 64 bit computers. If you look at the spe...
