I had the problems when I had Vista too, even tried XP but that wasn't helping much, the only help I can give you is to tell you that things are fine now I am using windows 7

OMG, this is the exact same problem that was plaguing me a while ago. I tried everything and basically gave up. I even bought Make The Cut which worked for a short while. The thing is, since I had a new laptop (windows 7) I can cut anything with Sure Cuts A Lot and nothing with Make The Cut!!! Bizar...

Just to update : ) Received my universal adapter from ebay and it works fine, I got the one that you can adjust the voltage on as it came with a variety of 'ends' to plug into the cricut but as it happened, the one that was fixed onto the cable fitted perfectly. so basically a universal adapter would be ok?
I can get one of those off ebay, I was looking at them the other day, they are around £20

I've looked on ebay but theres nothing coming up with cricut in the title, there are plenty of replacement universal adapters but I don't know whether I want to risk plugging that into my 'baby'

Its the actual power cable I need guys, not the usb, thanks though : )
