The image/images I have tried are svg...I have double checked ports also. I forgot to mention it works fine on my laptop
just not on the desktop all of the sudden..could there be a corupt file? if so how would I go about to fix this? anyone know?

My scal keeps hanging on starting connection. It worked fine an hour before and forever before that. I turned on machine and now it wont go any farther than that any ideas?

this is very cute love the bunnies and chicks and I really liked the embossing on the words!!!

I am not sure if this will help, but you said it was a jpg image. After loading into inkscape I believe you would need to convert to bitmap image then do the trace. edit/make bitmap copy....then you should have the bitmap to trace just look at bottom of inkscape and it will tell you jpg image or bit...
