TIMING OUT SOLVED

Hi Folks, Fantastic news: the Craft Edge crew sent me yesterday a newer version (3.035) of SCAL. I tried it and it seems to have solved all the problems with short timing out when calibrating the cutters. They will be releasing an official announcement, but they told me that if anyone wishes to try ...

Re: TIMING OUT TOO SHORT

Perhaps it is time to contactcraftedge support directly. They can work with the silver bullet folk to figure it out. http://CraftEdge.com/support/support_form.html Susan, I contacted CraftEdge twice, this was their first reply: "The cutter itself automatically resets itself after a period of i...

Re: TIMING OUT TOO SHORT

Gaz,

What you say about the cable is a bit discouraging, for a moment there I thought the Keyspan cable will solve all the problems. In any event, I am pretty happy with the method I found and I will wait until the software is updated to address this problem properly.

Thanks,

Shab

Re: TIMING OUT TOO SHORT

Yes, I know of several cases where the keyspan has solved the problem. In most of them the cutter did not respond to the command to move the laser at all. Normal cutting was not a problem, but print and cut was. Yes the keyspan requires its own driver to function. I understand your reluctance to pu...

Re: TIMING OUT TOO SHORT

I don't think it is a bug in that actual machine, just the way the cutter and computer are communicating. You could try a keyspan cable, that solves a lot of communication problems Thanks for the suggestion. I am glad at your optimism in thinking that there is no hardware problem with my cutter. Do...

Re: TIMING OUT TOO SHORT

I tried using the USB-2 port, alas, I get the same negative results. I am using the arrows on the screen with a mouse of course. The only conclusion I can arrive to is that I received a machine with a bug in it. The reason I am saying that is because from the posts so far, every machine out there ca...

Re: TIMING OUT TOO SHORT

You are not saying that my computer is too fast for the Silver Bullet - are you?

In any event, I do have also a USB-2. I will give it a try and will report back.
