so the cutter works on your machine, that's good. as to software, it's really your choice. I personally have inkscape, scal3, scal 3 pro and signcut pro but not really used signcut for a while. so maybe lets see if we can get the cutter working with scal3 and then you can work out the others from th...

well it was a combined file between mine and your but I really don't need the private emails so mine are now gone!!!

they do have a trace video on their tube of U channel but it's for Scal2

maybe try a search on the tube of U and see if anything comes up that is handy.

because the pic is not square on (it's taken at an angle) you have to trace half, then duplicate, flip and union. then trace the small butterfly and duplicate it and reduce the size, rotate and place in place. all done with the bezier tool :) then you just select the large butterfly and the smaller ...

OK so a quick and dirty trace of that pic gave me this Butterflyplacecard.png Butterfly Placecard.svg you might want to play with the nodes/lines a little - the 3 small butterflies are already "cut out" (extracted) from the large one so you'd need to "break apart" to alter those ...
