Thanks for all the great advice. In case anybody else wants to try, what worked was changing the dpi setting on my scanner. The ecraft is cutting my fabric patterns wonderfully. The only thing I need to figure out now is where to place blade in elation to where the image is on virtual mat. Will keep...

If you want an easy gauge to make sure something is the same size as what it was when you scanned it--cut (or punch if you have that size punch) a 1" square and scan that along with the item(s) you want to use. Then you can scale down the scanned image until that little square is 1" again...

actually i just want it to stay the same size the actual pattern is. So for instance it is a 4.5 x 6.5 pattern piece but when I bring it into SCAL to trace it turns it into an image larger than 12x12.

I have scanned in images of the pattern pieces for some doll clothes. I go to trace them in SCAL v. 3 and it makes the image three times the size it actually is. Plus it is grabbing all the white space from a sheet of paper. I know this question might not make the most sense, but if anybody has had ...
