Re: Does the Silhouetter Cameo use svg files?

The machine itself doesn't use any files, it does what the software tells it to. So the better question is, does the cameo software use svgs? The answer is, no, the software that COMES WITH IT doesn't. However, they sell an upgraded version that can use svgs. My understanding is it costs around $50....

Re: Sizzix eclips + Sure Cuts a Lot

I may be confused, but I thought that the whole idea behind SCAL was to allow people to create without using cartidges. I watched the CHA video, and what I got from it was that the Sizzix uses cartridges. Also, the cutter seems to me to be a titch more complicated to use than my Expression. Am I on...

You can try Discountmugs.com. They are having a 15% off and free shipping sale till the 10th, promo code JULY15. The more you buy, the cheaper they get.

Plain objects for embellishing are called 'blanks'. You can do a Google search on that.

Re: Copyrights

As gj1 says, you can't copyright an idea. She can copyright a design, such as a tree she drew (not all trees), but a process has to be patented. A copyright prevents someone from taking something you drew or wrote and claiming it as their own (which I must point out is exactly what she is doing with...

Re: Silhouette Machines and SVGs?

The silhouette software uses gsd files. If I remember correctly, it will import dxf files (I think that's right). If you have inkscape, you can open the svgs there and then save them as dxf. Open them in the silhouette software and save as gsd. But sometimes they don't import perfectly, it just depe...

Re: Sure Cuts a Lot 3.0 for Windows & Macintosh

If I remember correctly, you have to get a new number for SCAL 3. I did the same thing, downloaded 3 and installed, thinking it would work like an update, but it IS an upgrade. So you do it like you were purchasing 3, but it doesn't cost you anything so long as you own 2. Your current number DOESN'T...

Re: Hubby Said YES

I've had an ecraft from the beginning and there is a definate learning curve with it. If you haven't already, I would consider joining the eCraft_Crafters yahoo group. It's been around since a year BEFORE the machine was released and the best place to get your questions answered when the time comes....

Re: how to cut in reverse for t-shirts

It can seem a little confusing because with wall vinyl, the backing sheet is white and attached to the back of the vinyl. With heat press vinyl, the backing sheet is clear and attached to the FRONT side. Wall vinyl is cut with the finished side UP, facing you. Heat vinyl is cut with the finished sid...
