Re: What to use
You'd just want to get the current version, SCAL4. From SCAL1, I don't think it's an upgrade, I believe you have to purchase it outright. The upgrade starts at SCAL2. You'll have lots of great features to use. Then, after you design it, you'll export it a SVG file, which will enable you to open it t...

Re: SCAL won't recognize my cricut
What Cricut cutter are you trying to use? if it is the Cricut Explore (the new one), you can make your image in SCAL, export/save it as a svg file, and then open the svg file into the Explore cutting machine.

Re: Image print and cut. not lining up
Are you using ECAL or ECAL2 and the Eclips or the Eclips2? For either one, make sure you are using the most updated version. For ECAL2 with the Eclips2 there are two different calibrations to perform, so make sure both are done. The original Eclips just has the one calibration. I use ECAL2 on my ori...

Re: Traced image larger than original image
It is probably scanning at a higher dpi. The software is used to cut files at 72dpi. If you are scanning at 300 dpi it will bring it in larger. Try changing your scan to 72 dpi and see if that helps.

It would help if we knew what cutting machine you were using, and what type of computer (windows, mac). Thanks!

Re: I am behind time
Just a note. The upgrade from SCAL1 to SCAL2 was not a free upgrade. It was from from SCAL 2 to SCAL3, and then a paid upgrade from SCAL3 to SCAL4.

Re: What to buy besides a Cricut Explore
Love my Sizzix Eclips. It uses ECAL2 (which is the same as SCAL4, but has the extra features that the Eclips offers). Awesome machine. 12x12. Will score lines automatically at same time you are cutting. Does perfect cut-2-print.
Good luck!

Re: Do you recognize this font?
I would guess that it is not a font, but a graphic made from scratch. But, I do not know this for certain.

Re: I need hel[
First of all, you'll want to cut a tester to make sure it is cutting correctly. You will open your cut file on your mat. Make sure to mirror your image. Put your htv on your mat with the shiny side down. When you go to cut, you will chose vinyl as your media (paper type). Then just cut it. This is w...

Re: Can`t open files FCM files with SCAL 4
My impression is that you need to make all changes/designing in SCAL4 (you should save as scal4), then use the export only when you are ready to cut with your S&C. If you need to make changes to it, you'd need to re-open your scal4 and re-export as the FCM. I don't think they'll import FCM files...
