When asking about the cartridge. If you are getting stray cut lines when cutting from your machine itself using cartridge ONLY then we can rule out it being a SCAL program rather a machine problem.

I would also say that you should find a bigger and better quality image. If you can't see the detail to trace by hand then the computer won't either. You may want to go to where that watermarked image comes from and just purchase it as they will probably have the quality of image you need for a good...

Is your program in trial mode? Does this happen when you use a cartridge (could be blade drag)?

Do a test cut with a cartridge and see if you get the same results. But looks like the blade is the issue to me. Check for crack or paper stuck to it. Try slower setting. A lot of variables to try and isolate the issue.
