Re: How to PRINT
The text and font window can be opened by simply clicking on the T on the top tool bar. I always advise changing fonts this way as it's more stable than the drop down font menu. Even though you can see all your fonts in this window Inkscape will sometimes not allow you to use them- there are fonts i...

First try double clicking on the image to see if you can move it. If you can then select the writing and hit delete on your keyboard.

Re: how to load shapes into library
no - I've tried making custom shapes, changing the file format and adding them to the shape folder but they won't load and make the program crash. Maybe in future Todd could let us have that possibility.

Re: talk of possible new cricut carts
This is the sort of thing that makes me mad - get people into buying the carts at a ridiculous price then start making carts at a lower price ( gosh aren't we generous) but with less options so really in proportion you are spending the same as before. SCAL is an excellent option even if you only wan...

Which Corel program are you working in? If you can save as .svg can't you modify the file in the same program?

Re: pdf to SCAL via Inkscape
If you look at the tut 'How to' gsd to Scal and ignor the first frame just start from the pdf part. You will see that I open the pdf I made, then just flip it ( otherwise SCAL opens it upside down) and save as .svg, it opened perfectly in SCAL, ready for cutting. I started with a gsd because I'd had...

Re: Dingbat question
A dingbat is a font with pictures so just choose your dingbat from the font library in SCAL , then go to the font window and scroll down to see all the different designs, click on the one you want and it will appear on your page, then press cut. Remember that some fonts are not accepted by SCAL and ...

Re: questions about making a word book in inkscape
I'd say just make a note of the width and height of each letter page in Inkscape and use those measurements in SCAL. If you work in metric remember to change your units to inches in Inkscape before saving, this makes resizing a lot easier as SCAL only uses inches, just insert the values in the prope...

Re: question for someone that has a wishblade & the cricut
can you cut an .svg on Wishblade - I thought you had to create a .dxf? We found that .dxf files created in Inkscape often had a load of nodes and did cut rather slowly, so the best way was to export as a bitmap then import to your cutter software and use the autotrace feature. The Inkscape file can ...
