Re: Sure Cuts A Lot 2.011 Update Released
The swirls are on Build version 2.026 which is a 'work in progress' version of the software ; there is a link to the Build version on the download page. Build versions enable you to try out new features that the developers are working on ( like the Print feature which lets you cut with Craft ROBO), ...

Re: trace image for Iris fold cut out.HELP required
try changing the appearance of your image . I Select the image then go to the appearance menu change it to shadow (pointy) or blackout. That should give you a clearer outline, you'll still have some smaller cuts inside the outlines but they shouldn't matter as they'll be discarded anywayl Once you h...

Re: common Inkscape problem - disappearing shapes
Ok now I've seen the message! In the properties window that opens there are tabs at the top - fill, stroke etc. Make sure that you click on the stroke tab and that it is set to solid fill. Can you post a screen shot of what your window looks like - we can probably tell from those settings where you ...

Re: Trouble In Inkscape Paradise...Don't See Rectangle I'm draw
go to the top tool bar in Inkscape - click on the brush icon ( next to the T text icon); this opens the fill, line properties window . Your line settings should be showing as a solid colour and your fill with no colour ( the X). This should get rid of all the problems as selecting a fill colour isn'...

Re: Creating SVG Files in Illustrator?
people who chat often do ( go off topic I mean) ... that's the beauty of being able to chat and exchange ideas: you start off speaking about resizing and end up swapping recipes which by the way is still crafting related as they come under: quick ways to feed the troups while I play with SCAL

Re: Your old blades....
to spruce up the blades of my Robo if needs be I make a small pad of kitchen foil, take out the blade holder and slowly and gently draw it through the foil several times. I don't see why it shouldn't work for Cricut - if there's any serious damage it would need to be reground, but if it's just a bit...

Re: Creating SVG Files in Illustrator?
Thank you lovebeingamom, I know it's possible to change your preferences and default your settings as I've been working, writing tutorials and designing with Inkscape for 3 years now, but for those of us who always work metric changing temporarily to inches before exiting and noting down the measure...

Re: Creating SVG Files in Illustrator?
to help with resizing in SCAL - 1. make your svg file in your usual program : Illustrator, Inkscape etc 2. if using metric change the measurements to inches 3. click on the file and read off the measurements 4. Open SCAL import your svg and insert the measurements into the width and height boxes , d...

Re: when should i purchase SCAL?
I too read the blurb about Provocraft bringing out the DS Pro - from what I've read it still won't give you the option of using your own fonts or designing your own files, and in fact they're a bit vague about what it will do it seems. SCAL and Design Studio are, as I see it, two different options -...

Re: WOW this is hard
If you go to the Tutorials on the Craft Edge site here there are also beginners tutorials I wrote to start you off making your svg files when SCAL first came out, so help is always at hand! ( the images are from the first version of SCAL but the idea is the same) :) Do persevere - it seems gobbeldyg...
