You don't use the weld function. You open a rectangle deselect it and then open your oval (or whatever shape you want)and place it where you want.Press the view and you will see that both outlines are red.HTH.

You can only update the firmware of the Cricut with Design studio.You can do this using the trial version.You can carry on using the trial version of Design Studio using the George cart.If you want to use all your carts with Design Studio you have to puchase the full version.You can then use SCAL tr...

You know, I downloaded the trial and after it expired I decided that I would buy it.If someone can re install the trial and never buy it I would be really pi--ed!Just my end of the thread.

I have bought this and cut out with my Cricut using SCA and it works great.I used a brand new standard cricut blade and selected multi cut 2 at 1inch then 1.5inches and it worked perfect.Don't have a scanner so I can't post any pics,sorry.

If you saved a layout as a SCUT file, in the properties box under the flip and weld boxes you will see the name of the font used to create the layout.

Have you got a cartridge in the cricut?You have to insert a cartridge(any will do)in the cricut before you switch on ,it won't cut without one.Hope this helps.

The best way to see what it does is type a word in any font and click skew and then you can see exactly how it will cut afterwards if you don't like it don't save it.

I spoke to PC who told me to uninstall and reinstall CDS as I had issues with it.They told me as long as you reinstall on the same computer your registration number is on your computer's hard drive.Everything worked great.
