DUH! I think that I figured it out. I was clicking on each letter to weld them together (like in Cricut DS). Then I reread the instructions and saw that you click on the entire word and push weld. I tried that and so far it is working. I KNEW there had to be an easy fix.

I emailed support and I got the response that my letters were not touching so it would not weld. However, this is not true. My letters are touching. They HAVE to be because the first time I cut it, the letters were welded. When I reopened the file, the letters were still touching but NOT welded. It ...

I had all of the welded boxes checked and even made a cut where it was welded. Then I closed the project. The next time that I opened it, all of the welding boxes were unchecked, it was not welded in print preview and it cut as unwelded.

I went into something that I KNOW was welded together. It was not. I rewelded it, did a "Save As" and closed SCAL. When I reopened it, it was not welded. Any ideas?

Something that I do is using painters tape (it is the blue kind that looks like masking tape that you put up when you paint) to tape down my paper when the mats are no longer sticky.

Welding not sticking when reopening the file
I welded together some letters and saved the file. When I reopened it, they were no longer welded. Am I doing something wrong? TIA! Jill
