Why is Cricut no longer supported by SCAL?

I had the problem. After working with tech support I was directed to download the following version from their page. It worked for me when nothing else did.

I was so disappointed when I discovered that SCAL3 will not work with my Cricut. I like the new features but can't use it now that I upgraded. Will Cricut ever be added to Version 3?
