Re: Wordbook nightmare

Thanks. I didn't realize you had to set it in two places. That'll ease up one problem. I've downloaded 2.002, so I'm hopeful for better results. I do love SCAL.

Wordbook nightmare

I made a wordbook today using SCAL 2 (2.01) and wow. It was an awful experience. I couldn't get the book to work in layers, so I tried pages and that worked a little better. But only just. The biggest problem seemed to be getting the letters to stay shadowed. They kept jumping back to normal size. T...

Re: Ungrouping and layering

Thanks. I went back to Inkscape and divided it into layers. Imported back into SCAL2 and it divided perfectly.

Ungrouping and layering

I made some wordart in Inkscape and now would like to separate the colors into layers in SCAL. Is there any way to do that, either by layers or separating onto individual pages? I've tried going to UNGROUP but it doesn't work.

I, too, congratulate Todd. I just wish I could download the update. Every time I try, it locks up. Sent Todd a note but alas, he didn't answer

Re: Deeper Blade

I've tried it. Not impressed. I eventually got it to cut .022 chipboard but as for the thicker stuff that it advertises it'll cut...forget it.

Re: Word Book Materials

I use .22 chipboard and cut three pieces for each page. That makes for a fairly sturdy book. However, I'll be happier when the deep blade comes out as I understand you can cut much stronger materials.

Re: uhoh!

I went through that a few weeks ago. I went ahead and upgraded and have had no problem. I think what you want to avoid is downloading upgraded versions of the software.

There's a font that has a graduation cap. I think it's called WM Graduate.

Re: Cutting Fonts/Shapes from Cricut Cartridges

I imagine you would take the picture of the object from the booklet, convert it into an svg using Inkscape, then import into SCAL. But that's quite a bit of work and I don't think the quality would be nearly what you would get from the actual cart.
