Thanks, I'll look for it. The 64-bit version can be tricky with some software, so I hope I can find more info.

Re: Windows 7 ?

Thanks for the quick reply! :) I saw the system requirements when I saw there was a new version out. The thing is, sometimes what's listed and what actually works are different. I'd heard on another website that some have issues with the 64-bit version of Windows 7. Can anyone verify s/he uses SCAL ...

Re: Windows 7 ?

I have Windows 7 64-bit, just upgraded to it on my Dell with their free upgrade kit. I need to know if SCAL will work on this version of Windows 7 before I even think of buying it. My desktop runs XP, but we don't keep it anywhere near my craft room and I'm not moving it.

Re: The Font Thing - Font Manager

Your font files won't go anywhere, honest! They'll all still be on your hard drive, but they won't be active. Each font that's active sucks up system resources (RAM). By disabling a lot of your fonts, you free up system resources. The only way you'll end up with missing fonts is if you delete them. ...

Re: The Font Thing - Font Manager

Now, remember, the files are still going to be on your hard drive and taking up space. The nice thing is, you could copy your specialty fonts to a CD or flash thumb drive, then delete them from your hard drive they're not taking up space on your hard drive. Just make sure to make a backup of the fon...

Re: The Font Thing - Font Manager

O.K. now I'm a bit confused. How do you have fonts in the font thing without them being installed? That's the nature of how font managers work. The font files are not "in" The Font Thing (TFT), but are still on your computer's hard drive where they always were. When you use TFT to uninsta...

Re: Will This Work?

You sure can, and further, you can use a font manager like the free The Font Thing manager on both PC's to make the fonts' installation and removal quick and easy on the fly, right from the flash drive. :) I'm starting to get overwhelmed with all the fonts I've downloaded. Plus, they are all on my d...

Re: The Font Thing - Font Manager

Hi, btails. Happy new year! I use The Font Thing on both my Vista laptop and my XP desktop. You will likely need to run it in XP compatibility mode. Doing that is simple: 1. Right click on the program's shortcut 2. Click Properties 3. Click the Compatibility tab 4. Click to put a checkmark next to &...
