I've been using a lint roller on my Silhouette mat. It still looks dirty but boy does it stay sticky. I also used Xyron repositionable on one of my Cricut mats and use the lint roller on that and it really stays sticky.

This is helpful! I just learned how to lighten a background in Inkscape to be able to trace something. There is so much I don't know about Inkscape. You can make the long card with two 8 1/2 x 11. In the experimental one that I posted, you can see that there is maybe a half inch extra card ( two sections welded with the 1/2 inch welded to it.) which you line up with the first of the double sections. does that make sense? Every thing worked fine. The little extra on the side is used to glue the two double sections together. I just finished another one using your idea with the shapes library. Thank you Heather, it worked!!!! Inkscape was so big on my screen I couldn't see the bottom part where it said there were groups. I've made the screen smaller so I can see everything. Altho I've been using Inkscape for years, there is more that I don't know than I do know!

I've been playing around with the Edges fonts from Susan Blue Robot. I got the edges to connect to the card but for the life of me I can't get the edges of the card to weld together in Inkscape. I've tried every button under Path and even a combination of buttons. Can you tell me what to do?

I just use dry wall joint tape to transfer vinyl. You can reuse it many times and it isn't very expensive.
