Re: Help with pattern

As another idea, you could trace with SCAL and cut out the middleman (don't use inkscape at all) 1) Open SCAL 2) Select File> Trace Image, Select your jpg 3) Select the settings you need and trace (use the preview button a lot) 4) Save as an svg or scal file There is an excellent tutorial on Craft E...

Re: Opinions Please - Chipboard - Spray Adhesive - Paper

I've used spray adhesive (the permanent kind) to cereal box cardboard and cut it. It worked fine. As I recall, i let the adhesive dry overnight before cutting.

Re: New SCAL file for Western Welcome Tile

Joni,

Just go to FILE>EXPORT. You have the choice of saving as svg, bmp, or png.

Re: G Block

SCAL 2 has the node edit option, though if I use it much, it tends to cause my program not to work well. If I want to edit nodes, I can use in Inkscape or another program (I actually prefer CorelDraw for its ease of use).

Re: G Block

Chantel, yes, you can put it back together if you want. Lasso all the pieces, so they are all selected, then select: Object, Merge. Granny, yes, you can select individual nodes and delete them, but it is easier, if you are going to delete a whole object, such as a letter, to break it apart and do it...

Re: G Block

Select the block, then from the file menu, use: Object, Break Apart. This will break it into the separate pieces. Then you can click on the letter and delete it, then choose a new letter from whatever font you have, and add it.

Re: G Block

Very cute!

Chantel, why not use this file and just change the letters in the middle?

Re: Help needed with trace image to make svg SCAL 2

If you open your files in a paint program, such as paint.net, you will need to use the paint fill bucket function and black in your designs. Save that, and then open it up to trace. It should fix the problem of double lines.

Re: HELP!

If you have the SVG plugin for irfanview, you could do it as a batch. Under the file menu there is the option "batch conversion/rename". That's the only way I can think of without doing it one at a time with another program.
